Vincent Kompany’s Clarets head Sheffield United on goal difference as Jay Rodriguez (2), Brazilian ace Vitinho and Belgium Under 21 international Anass Zaroury were on the scoresheet at Turf Moor.
Here are the player ratings following Burnley’s best performance of the season.
9. Nathan Tella 9
The Southampton forward's temporary capture has been a real coup for the Clarets. The 23-year-old ex-Arsenal academy star looks every bit a Premier League player. His first touch, poise, pace, and precision is a cut above this level. Gave Ben Cabango — who was eventually booked — nightmares with his running in-behind, which constantly stretched the Swansea City defence. Pressed Nathan Wood to force a secondary error leading to the home side's third goal. Photo: CameraSport - Rich Linley
10. Anass Zaroury 9
Burnley have got a real talent on their hands in the Belgium Under 21 international. The ex-Charleroi prospect always seems to have a trick up his sleeve, he's comfortable playing with both feet, can go on the inside and outside of full backs, and will only go from strength to strength with increased game time. Set up the second goal with a pinpoint cross for Jay Rodriguez and opened his account for the club with a fine finish. Photo: CameraSport - Rich Linley
11. Jay Rodriguez 8.5
Burnley's hometown hero is likely to hit double figures way before the halfway point of the season. A proper predatory performance from the club's leading scorer, who continued to defend well from the front. Pounced on Anass Zaroury's cross to extend Burnley's lead and applied a fabulous first time finish to complete the scoring in the second half. Full of running and now on seven goals from 11 Championship starts. Photo: CameraSport - Rich Linley
12. Johann Berg Gudmundsson 7
The Icelandic winger came on for the final half-hour and aided Burnley's game management as the hosts saw the game out in a professional manner. Retains the ball well, tracks the runner when needed, and rarely concedes possession. His late corner almost saw fellow substitute Samuel Bastien add a fifth goal for the Clarets.
