Lining up in a 4-4-1-1 formation we've picked out the cream of the crop of Burnley players to have represented the Three Lions since the 1950s. In total the starting XI collected a total of 35 caps for England over various decades while contracted at Turf Moor. Here's the team...
1. Colin McDonald
McDonald played 201 times for the Clarets between 1953 and 1959 and was capped eight times for the Three Lions, including all four matches in the 1958 FIFA World Cup in Sweden.
2. John Angus
Burnley was the right back's one and only club during his career. He played 439 times during his stay at Turf Moor and was part of the squad that were crowned champions of England in 1960. He made his only England appearance alongside Brian Miller against Austria.
3. James Tarkowski
The Burnley centre back, who has made more than 100 Premier League appearances for the club, made his England debut in a 1-1 draw against Italy at Wembley in 2018.
4. Michael Keane
Keane, who made exactly 100 league appearances for Burnley before his switch to Everton, received his first full international call-up by Gareth Southgate in 2016 as he replaced the injured Glen Johnson.
