Natasha Jarrold is taking to the skies to remember a special man and turn what had been a sad date into a memorable one.

Mother-of-two Natasha (23) will sky dive for the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation on November 19th - the day three years ago that her father-in-law Simon Jarrold was diagnosed with a rare form of lung cancer which eventually killed him.

Adult nursing student Natasha, who lives with husband Edward and children Mia Sienna and Oakley in Rosehill, has already raised £300 for the charity and hopes to boost this over the next few months.

“Simon was a non smoker and a park manager- all in all he was a jack of all trades!” said Natasha. “He had just turned 59 when he passed away.

“He found out he had a rare form of lung cancer on November 19th 2013 then he sadly passed away after his first round of chemotherapy on December 15th that year, the same day I found out I was pregnant with Oakley.

“My husband and I have been raising money for different causes ever since.

“Edward did sober October for Macmillan and I decided to go bigger. I wasn’t too scared about the sky dive until my husband enlightened me that the plane is moving when I jump out – I assumed they hovered while you jump – but we will see when I get up there.

“November is also Lung Cancer Awareness Month so it all coincides together.”
