Motorists warned of delays after van crashes into tree on the A59

Police are advising drivers of slow traffic between Bramley Meade and Petre Roundabout on the A59 after a vehicle was in collision with a tree.

The incident happened this afternoon and police remain at the scene.

A spokesman for Ribble Valley Police said: "Please be aware of slow traffic between Bramley Meade and Petre Roundabout A59, as recovery of a vehicle following an accident is causing traffic delay issues.

"No other vehicles are involved, passenger and driver are uninjured.

"The only casualties are the van and a signpost."
