Firefighters were called out to rescue a deer that had become trapped in fencing in Colne yesterday.

Two fire engines, from Nelson and Colne, attended the incident on Whitewalls Drive at 5pm yesterday.

Firefighters, who were at the scene for around 20 minutes, used a high-pressure airbag to release the animal.
