A drug-driver, seven times the cannabis limit, has been banned for 12 months.

Burnley magistrates heard how Mark Walford gave a police station test, which revealed he had 14 microgrammes of delta-9- tetrahydrocannabinol per litre of blood in his system. The amount allowed is two.

The 34-year-old, of Brennand Street, Burnley, admitted driving when a proportion of a controlled drug exceeded the specified limit, on Briercliffe Road, in the town on September 28th.

He was fined £275 and was told to pay a £32 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs.
