Ribchester Amateur Theatrical Society (RATS) will celebrate 100 years of women’s votes with a Promenade Play.

Poison in the Parish, a murder mystery which was nominated for a NODA award, will be performed today at 7pm and on Saturday and Sunday at 3pm in Ribchester.

The play is an original piece written by Bridget Rabbitts and marks a century since the passing of The Representation of the People Act which gave some women the vote.

It pays homage to the followers of both Millicent Fawcett and Emmeline Pankhurst who led the Suffrage Movement which campaigned for equality.
