A comedy-murder play and the ever-popular musical “Me and My Girl” are lined up for the new season of Clitheroe Parish Church AODS.

The society’s enrolment night is on Tuesday, September 8th, when existing members and any prospective new members are welcome to find out more, whether they are interested in being on stage or carrying out the many tasks behind the scenes.

The comedy/murder mystery by Peter Gordon; “Death by Fatal Murder” is staged from October 14th to 17th, and rehearsals are already under way.

“Me & My Girl”, to be be performed from February 13th to 20th, is a light-hearted and funny show, containing well known songs such as “Leaning On A Lamp Post”, “Lambeth Walk”, “The Sun Has Got His Hat On”, “Once You Lose Your Heart” and of course the title song “Me And My Girl”.

Enrolment night, combined with first rehearsal for the show, is at 7-30pm on September 8th in St Mary’s Centre, Church Street, Clitheroe.

Society chairman Brian Haworth said: “If anyone is interested in becoming a member, to be in the musical, or to help in any other way, they can come along and meet us and join us for another enjoyable and successful year of amateur theatre.

“As well as actors and singers, we always need artists who can paint scenery, or backcloths and are not afraid of some pretty big canvases.

“So, if you want to get involved, whether on stage, or in any of the other departments – hair, make-up, front of house or backstage – please come along on Tuesday September 8th and join a great team. We have a great time and so will you.”
