Following highly competitive auditions and several months of intensive rehearsals, The Grand at Clitheroe opened its doors to two highly acclaimed performances of the classic musical “Annie” performed by Ribblesdale High School pupils.
Once again children from local primary schools were invited to a “VIP premiere” of the casts’ first public performance on the Monday morning and, judging by the volume of their applause and involvement, they all seemed to thoroughly enjoy it!
Cast members’ friends were heard to exclaim enthusiastically that they were amazed to see the level of confidence, energy and pure talent that their peers demonstrated on both nights, with some going on to say how proud they were.
It should be noted that, as always, this production could not have gone ahead without the tireless dedication, energy and hard work of directors Mrs Holaday and Mrs Robinson, or without Miss Mason in charge of musical composition and choreography. Talented young musicians Ellen Buller and Ben Heys beautifully completed the musical support. The entire cast thank them for all their efforts and look forward to working alongside them on next year’s production!
The school’s thanks also go to the team at The Grand for all of their support and expertise.
Mrs Holaday commented: “It has been a pleasure directing ‘Annie’. The pupils have worked extremely hard in rehearsals since October and have remained enthusiastic throughout! It’s not an easy feat to undertake such a commitment.”
A final congratulations goes to the entire cast for completing their final performances. Well done to you all!
