SINGERS are being sought to perform at Clitheroe’s Christmas Concert.

Ribble Valley Choir will be singing at the concert, which involves all the churches in Clitheroe and take place this year on Saturday, December 17th, at 7-30 p.m. at the town’s Trinity Methodist Church.

The concert is called “Joy to the World” and will be a celebration of Christmas in music, drama and dance. It is being organised through Clitheroe Christians in Partnership.

The Ribble Valley Choir will play a major part in the festive concert. It is an “occassional choir”, not existing all year round but convened to perform at major events in Clitheroe such as the Christmas concert or proms. It comprises members of other local choirs and singing groups but also those who do not regularly sing in choirs, and new members are always welcome.

Singers of any ability are invited to join the choir for this special occasion and will have an opportunity to sing in a big choir. Musical items include traditional carols, music by Vivaldi and John Rutter with popular recent items including “You raise me up”. Rehearsals will take place on Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons for four weeks before the concert.
