The opening concert of the 10th series of “Musical Extravaganza” at Padiham Unitarian Church takes place on September 7th at 7 pm.
It will feature one the UK’s foremost entertainment organists, Chris Powell, who will play the church’s splendid Phoenix 3 high specification digital organ and his own fabulous Roland Atelier AT-900C model, which he tours with around the UK and abroad.
This amazing state-of-the-art instrument combines the very latest keyboard and sound technology with traditional well-loved organ tones and is the perfect instrument for his exciting and fast-paced show presentation of popular and well loved classics.
Admission is £7 including light refreshments and proceeds will go to the North West Air Ambulance, The Children’s Heart Surgery Fund and the chapel.
The other four concerts in the series will feature will the oldest brass band in the world, Besses O’th Barn, on November 16th, The Houghton Weavers on January 24th, Steeton Male Voice Choir on March 8th and the Swing Commanders May 3rd.
