After a highly successful 60th Season, Clitheroe Concerts Society will present its Summer Concert on Wednesday June 6th at 7-30 p.m.
The Astrum Guitar Duo, Martin Bickerton and Amy Perry, will be playing. They come with the highest recommendation of the Royal Northern College of Music, where they were prize winning post-graduates and were also chosen to play for the Queen and Prince Philip only a month ago, during their visit to Manchester.
They will be playing a varied programme of music from Telemann through to the modern. Spanish-American music features heavily as well as contemporary composers including a piece by Martin himself.
This is a concert for everyone, especially as entrance is free and you don’t need tickets, although donations towards the society – a non-profit making charity – will be welcome. It is a chance to find out more about the society and learn about what is on offer for next season. Young people under 16 are welcome, but should be accompanied by an adult. A very brief AGM of the society will be held in the interval.
The concert takes place in the usual venue, the Ribble Valley Borough Council Chamber in Church Street, Clitheroe.
