After singing and leading carols last night at Whalley Pickwick Festival, The A Cappella Singers will be making their sixth visit to Our Lady and St Hubert’s Church in Great Harwood on Sunday, December 6th.
They will join Grange Brass in a concert of Festive and Christmas Music at 2-30 pm
The singers have performed in Great Harwood on many occasions up to two years ago, and the last Christmas concert was in 2006 at Our Lady and St Hubert’s Church when they were well received.
From their formation in 1995, the A Cappella Singers have built up a large following of people who have supported them from start, having given concerts in the local area, Fylde Coast, Greater Manchester, Cheshire and West Yorkshire they have a huge support from the public. On this occasion they will be joined by Grange Brass under the direction of Andrew Williams.
Grange Brass was formed in 1991 from past pupils from Alder Grange High School in Rawtenstall, following the original school band from the 1970s. Now under the direction of one of the three remaining founder members, Roger Nicholls, who has held the group together, they are well supported as they tour the area.
This band has developed over the years and now contains friends, family and children of the original members.
This concert will present music for the festivities of Christmas with the singers presenting carols all unaccompanied, whilst Grange Brass will be playing a varied programme of music for the evening and when they also join together and invite the audience to take part. The anticipated concert has already generated great interest in the area.
Tickets are on sale at £7, with accompanied children under 12 paying £1, including a programme. The price includes light refreshments at the end of the concert. Further details can be obtained from Anne Gray on 01254 884401 or visit: www.acappellasingers.co.uk
