Boys just love their toys. It’s a true saying and one which rings out as Christmas approaches and the ever long list starts to appear.

So why not be prepared this year and take advantage of discounts so your money spreads further?

The Early Learning Centre has come up with some excellent toys to keep the children entertained and at a reasonable price too.

Ruaridh (6) was only to happy to test out the remote controlled quad bike (£40). As with all Early Learning Centre toys, they are designed to help children to learn as they play. And Ruaridh had great fun zooming the bike in and out of pretend obstacles and using it to practice co-ordination skills. As well as being a great way to keep the children quiet, it also sharpens reflexes and there is a detachable driver so the child can let their imagination go wild.Ruaridh had a ball whizzing the bike in and out of his home-made obstacle course of furniture and chairs!

And for the girls, what better than a traditional dolls house. The Rosebud Dollshouse (£80) is a classic wooden house , with three storeys, it is easy to assemble and the pretty opening shutters mean there is plenty of chance to play. Flora (4) is at an age when she loves to make up stories of princesses and princes and this house allows a child the space to move round and imagine all sorts!. Its easy to put together and takes up little room, an ideal toy to have around when the grown ups want to put their feet up!
