Landscape art fills Clitheroe Castle gallery

MORE than 50 impressive pictures feature in a new exhibition at Clitheroe Castle’s Steward’s Gallery, entitled “Limestone, Sandstone, Millstone – Landscape Art of Lancashire Yorkshire and Cumbria”.

The exhibition is being curated by Mary Gavagan, who for many years was director of the art gallery at Lancaster University and now runs Gavagan Art, based at the Linton Court Gallery, Settle.

Originally from Darwen, Mary has personally selected the 53 works on show in the Steward’s Gallery, including paintings, drawings and original prints. Featured artists include Norman Adams, Anna Adams, David Cook, Donald Fenton, Frank Gordon, Katharine Holmes, Vivien John, David Morris, Phil Morsman, Janet Swailes, Margaret Uttley. All work in the exhibition is for sale andd it runs until February 6th.

The exhibition also dovetails with Mary’s current exhibition of “Yorkshire Landscapes” at her Settle Gallery, which runs until November 3rd. For details of this, visit www.gavaganart.com or phone 01970 824497.
