A VISIT from Paul Hollywood, star of the BBC’s hit show The Great British Bake-Off, is the highlight of the next Ladies Who Lunch event at Stanley House Hotel and Spa, in Mellor.

Wirral-born baker Paul will be guest of honour at December 14th in aid of local children’s charity, Miles of Smiles.

Guests will be able to pose questions to Paul about the BAFTA award winning show, what it’s like to be one of Britain’s TV heart-throbs and, of course, gain expert baking tips too.

Having baked for the likes of Tom Cruise at the Dorchester and the late Queen Mother, Paul said: “I can’t wait to be back up in the North.

“It’s been a crazy few months filming the final of this year’s show so I’m looking forward to relaxing with guests at the new-look Stanley House estate.”

He added: “Miles of Smiles is a fantastic charity and I hope we can raise as much as possible so it can continue with such great work.”

As well as hearing from Paul, guests will have the opportunity to browse stalls from Lancashire’s finest independent retailers and enjoy a two-course lunch consisting of butter roasted breast of Turkey with all the trimmings and mulled pear crème brulee with cinnamon ice cream and pear crisp.

Stanley House’s sales and marketing manager, Wendy Hope, commented: “We are honoured to welcome Paul as our guest to Stanley House. It’s a fabulous opportunity for ladies to lunch with a special guest, network and have fun while raising funds for a good cause.”

There will also be a chance to win a host of prizes in the raffle including a luxury pamper package for two at the new Stanley House spa.

Paul joins a list of celebrity guests who have hosted the event and helped to raise more than £8,000 for charity. The list includes Dancing on Ice winner Hayley Tammadon, broadcast legend Anne Diamond and Coronation Street’s Shobna Gulati.

Tickets for the event are £45 per person, available by phoning 01254 769200.
