A medieval banquet is being staged at Clitheroe Castle later this month as part of the Festival of Wonders 
programme of events.

People are being invited to celebrate Clitheroe Castle’s rich history with a family evening of medieval merriment and banquet at the Atrium café on Friday, May 16th, from 5-30 to 7-30 pm.

Traditional food will be served and there will be medieval musicians – the Gaita Medieval Music Ensemble – playing live music using traditional instruments and singing.

Costumed hosts will be on hand at the event to teach guests a few traditional dancing steps and tell the story behind the medieval food and drink.

Taking place in the historic setting of Clitheroe Castle, the event promises to be a great evening out for all the family.

This medieval banquet is part of the Festival of Wonders, which is celebrating the stories, people and places that make up Pennine Lancashire.

The festival includes more than 20 events being staged across three days, May 15-17th.

The medieval banquet is part of Museums at Night 2014, for which there will be special events and late night openings in museums, galleries, libraries and other heritage venues all across the UK.
