Records show that centuries are very few and far between in district cricket.
But two came in two weeks earlier this summer for Ribble Valley District batsmen.
Both centurions play for Ribblesdale Wanderers juniors, and both scored them against Lancaster and Morecambe.
Mack Spencer, 15, recorded a hard-hitting 127 not out for the Under 15s as they progressed to the LCP Final against Hyndburn. Mack’s century moved him into Ribblesdale Wanderers’ first XI.
And Jonathan Richardson, for the Under 13s, scored a polished 123 not out to became the first 12-year-old on record to achieve such a feat.
In the same game, another Wanderers youngster, Joe Briggs, 12, scored 56 on debut as the side won their LCP Final against Wyre District.
Two other 12-year-olds from Ribblesdale, wicketkeeper Matt King and swing bowler Jack Morris represented the District Under 13s with distinction this season.
