Champions Clitheroe suffered a bit of a scare at Middleton in the Lancashire League but recovered to claim back-to-back wins.
Sam Halstead, who took 6-29 in the thumping victory over Rawtenstall last weekend, is already closing in on double figures for the campaign after claiming another three wickets at Towncroft.
The 30-year-old, who has previously played for Nelson and Ramsbottom, helped restrict the hosts to a 113 run finish when conceding just 24 runs from his 10 overs.
He was aided by professional Imran Khalid, with the Pakistani paid man matching his tally at the expense of 16 runs from 15 overs.
Skipper Jack Dewhurst and Tom Lord also chipped in with two wickets apiece as the visitors propelled themselves in to a commanding position.
However, Thomas Rutter did everything in his power to get the hosts back in to the game with a fantastic fiver-fer.
The visitors were shaking, with two wickets down for 13, before they crumbled to six wickets lost with just 45 runs on the board.
Fortunately, captain Dewhurst grabbed the game by the throat when firing 45 in an unbroken seventh wicket stand of 69 with Lord (35 not out) to get his side over the line.
