The retention of their Ramsbottom Cup crown could even prove bitter sweet for Ribblesdale Wanderers as the threat of relegation looms over the club.

Charlie Jackson’s side take on Cherry Tree at Earby’s Applegarth on July 27th as they look to register their third success in the competition in four years.

However, the Church Meadow outfit are currently cemented to the foot of the league’s top tier and 18 points from safety.

Great Harwood, Brooksbottom and fellow relegation candidates Barnoldswick provide the opposition ahead of their finals day.

The weekend saw Wanderers slide to a 46-run loss at the hands of Edenfield. The visitors, who batted first, posted a total of 194-8 as Brannon Varley claimed figures of 5-46 from a 10-over spell.

In reply, the hosts whimpered to defeat. John Rain top-scored with 27 when coming in at number five, while overseas amateur Ben Dougall and Varley contributed knocks of 21.
