Clitheroe’s bid for a fourth-successive title stayed firmly on track as they breezed past Cherry Tree on Saturday.
Paul Gaskell’s men won by five wickets at Chatburn Road, knocking off their meagre target of 73 within 21 overs.
Cherry Tree won the toss and chose to bat, a decision they were made to regret as Clitheroe dismissed the visitors for 73 inside 34 overs.
But for Stefan Klopper’s 31, it could have been a lot worse, as Saud Ahmed took 4-18, Marcus Sharp 3-22 and Janaka Guneratne 3-27.
Clitheroe struggled early in their reply as they were restricted to 9-3 and 22-5, but an unbeaten 34 from Guneratne and 22 not out from Sam Mulligan saw them over the line.
Clitheroe travel to Cliffe Park to face Great Harwood on Saturday.
