Whalley suffered a 34-run loss at the hands of Oswaldtwistle Immanuel in the Ramsbottom Cup.

Sam Sweeney, Toby Bulcock and Simon Gorton all took three wickets apiece to give their side a fighting chance at Station Road but visiting pro Akshu Prihan fired 96 runs to see his side to a 169-run tally.

Sweeney (28), Stuart Crabtree (25) and an unbeaten knock of 32 from Lee Kearsley was the best that Whalley had to offer but it wasn’t enough.

Whalley host Earby on Saturday and travel to take on Feniscowles on Sunday.
