Whalley continued their excellent league form on Saturday in a low-scoring game against Oswaldtwistle Immanuel at Station Road.
Skipper Richard Lamb won the toss and decided to bat, with fourth placed Whalley looking to keep the pressure on the teams above.
Runs were hard to come by as Whalley were all out for 81, Jean Maris taking 4-14.
Only Yogesh Takawale, who made 16 off 25 balls, and Fergus Bailey, who added 19 off 82 deliveries, reached double figures.
Bottom club in Section A Oswaldtwistle must have thought they would get a much-needed win at the interval.
However, they were all out for 68 in only 25 overs in reply, with only Oliver Clare getting into double figures, making 32, with former Lowerhouser man Fergus Bailey doing most of the damage with 5-35.
Whalley are at Great Harwood in the league on Saturday, after tomorrow night’s 20/20 derby at Ribblesdale Wanderers.
Last Friday, in Group Four, Whalley were beaten by Clitheroe by nine wicket in the 20/20, having been bowled out for 65.
Clitheroe won by nine wickets within eight overs.
The winners of tomorrow’s match at Ribbesdale Wanderers will claim the last quarter-final place.
