Kirk Cattermole was racing at the Norfolk-based circuit Snetterton at the weekend on the Snetterton 200 circuit, for rounds nine and 10 of the British Superkart championship,

It was the first time karts have used at the circuit since they changed the layout in 2011.

The weekend consisted of Friday practice and Saturday race day, which saw free practice, qualifying and two championship point scoring races.

Luckily the weather was dry, but windy.

On Friday, there were four practice sessions, which Cattermole took advantage of, as he has changed engines from the SGM to the IAME 125 engine, which is unproven in the UK on long circuit.

So time was taken in each session on warming the engine up and making any engine and carburettor changes.

The day went well, and he entered into race day on a positive note.

Cattermole managed to record the fastest time in free practice, and also secured pole position for qualifying.

In race one, he secured a lights to flag victory, leading for all the 12 laps, holding off the second placed driver hot on his heels, a mere 0.222 of a second behind .

And in race two, Cattermole secured a comfortable second place finish.

With the points tallied up, his first and second place finishes meant Cattermole had secured enough points to win the meeting.

Cattermole would like to thank Catracing Services, PFP Services, Millers Oils and Hoosier Tyres.
