Chris takes top spot at Mytton Fold Golf Club

Chris Chadwick took the top spot when Mytton Fold Golf Club held their latest round of their Winter Singles competition.

His 37 points over the shortened 16-hole winter course left him two points clear of Jean Van Boeckel in second and three clear of Frank Hindle in third.

Dave Clegg came in fourth with 33 points and the current Order of Merit leader, Dave Griffith, in fifth.

First lady home was Allison Nuttall with 30 points, Hazel Sellars was runner-up, Brenda Griffith finished third and Lady Captain-Elect Tarja Wilson came home fourth.

There were three twos with Frank Hindle, Garry Davies and John Berry all birdying the first hole.

With Dave Griffith heading the men’s Order of Merit, John Berry crept a little closer in second, overtaking Steve Worrall and Peter Main. Brenda Griffith leads the ladies’ Order of Merit ahead of Hazel Sellars and Allison Nuttall.

In the Winter Pairs, Wayne Ivinson and John Welch (43 points) led the field home by four clear points from second placed Peter Fox and Phil Ryan.

The pairings of Mick Kelbie/Jean Van Boeckel, Phil Hammond/Peter Main, John Parkinson/John Whittaker, Gary Ashton/Nigel Fairhurst and Mick Mahon/Frank Hindle all carded 38 points.
