Salesbury and Baxenden played out a tie at Ribchester Road on Saturday.

The Red Caps’ Sam Bristol claimed the vital wicket of Matthew Aspinall to deny the visitors victory.

Kurt Smithson took 5-43 to restrict Salesbury to 129-9 after 45 overs. Liam Parkinson (31) shared 57 for the first wicket with James Watson (28), while professional Susantha Pradeep added 27, and Andrew Mercer 21 not out.

Baxenden were handily placed at 83-5 with 14 overs remaining, but Aspinall’s dismissal off the third ball of the 42nd over completed their downfall, as Pradeep finished with 4-27.
