New world record at Pendle Witch Walk: PHOTO SPECIAL

A NEW world record for the most people dressed as witches in one place has been set at this weekend’s Pendle Witch Walk, in aid of Pendleside Hospice.

Some 482 people set the new record, which has never been previously attempted, on the 400th anniversary of the trial of the Pendle Witches at Lancaster Castle.

More than 1,000 people turned out for the five-mile Pendle Witch Walk event, which saw walkers trek to the top of Pendle Hill and which is hoped to have raised around £30,000 for the hospice. to raise money for the Pendleside Hospice, Burnley.
