Ribble Valley Netball Club’s Under 14s had a fantastic surprise at a recent training session.
England Under 21 captain and Yorkshire Jets wing attack Natalie Haythornthwaite popped in to take training and pass on her wealth of experience to the young talent at the club.
Barrowford’s Natalie, who started her netball career at Ribble Valley Netball Club, recently helped England Under 21s to the semi-finals, and fourth place, in the World Youth Championships in Glasgow, while, at the turn of the year, she was in the senior squad which registered an historic Test series victory against Australia.
The 20-year-old, who trains at the England Netball Intensive Netball Training Centre in Manchester, had wanted to help out at the club when she could find the time in her busy schedule.
She took the girls for a two-hour session, and passed on some of her training techniques to the girls.
Natalie is already planning to do more sessions with the Ribble Valley teams, and is hoping to attend some of the club’s games.
The club would like to thank Natalie for her help and look forward to her helping out again.
