CLITHEROE Dolphins’ Dean Sumner was named Coach of the Year at the 11th MWR Lancashire Sports Awards at Preston Guild Hall.
The Awards celebrated and recognised the endeavours of the Red Rose county’s hardest-working figures within amateur sport.
Acclaiming their achievements were the Ribble Valley’s own Olympic medalists Samantha Murray and Jon Schofield, Euxton’s Olympic pole vaulter Holly Bleasdale, Paralympians Graeme Ballard and Jack Bridge, former Burnley star Graham Alexander and European Indoor 3,000m gold medallist Helen Clitheroe.
Since Dean arrived at Clitheroe Dolphins, he has secured additional pool time to allow the club to progress further and improve their performance in galas. Dean is always looking for new ideas on training techniques and ways to manage young swimmers.
