The annual Pendle Fell Race was held last weekend from the picturesque village of Barley.
The five-mile race was blessed with gorgeous, sunny, windless conditions. This tough category A fell race, which attracted 340 runners, goes to the summit of Pendle and back. It was won by Pudsey and Bramley’s Rob Hope in a time of 32:13. The women’s race was won by Victoria Wilkinson, who is based at Denise Park’s Physiotherapy Practice in Clitheroe. The sports masseur ran a fine race to beat Wakefield’s Annabel Mason into 2nd by just under a minute.
Victoria, who last won this race in 2008, finished 14th overall this time in a high standard race, with Ian Holmes second, eight seconds behind the winner, and Pudsey and Bramley’s Darren Kay only 15 seconds behind Ian.
