Stay fit and have fun at Clitheroe’s rugby event

Clitheroe RUFC are to host a Touch Rugby competition during July.

In an effort to provide a great way to keep fit over the summer period, Clitheroe have planned a mixed summer touch rugby competition that will run on Thursday evenings between 7 and 9 p.m. throughout next month.

The Lancashire Rugby Football Union are backing the club to promote the event by providing all the kit required, and all that’s needed now is some willing entrants, aged 16 and over.

Each year more than 15,000 adults of all ages and abilities play touch rugby in men’s, women’s and mixed games all around the UK.

It’s non-contact, there are no scrums, no line-outs, no rucks and no mauls.

In fact you really don’t have to have played rugby of any kind before, so if you can run a bit and catch a bit then you can play touch rugby, and if you want to get a bit fitter and make new friends, then it’s perfect for a summer’s evening.

If you’re interested in going along on your own or with some friends to the first session on Thursday, July 7th, please contact the event admin team as soon as possible by calling or texting on 07534 171135, or email to touchrugby@clitheroerugby.com
