Sophie Lamb’s climb to stardom is picking up pace after the teenage talent received two international call-ups.
The 15-year-old is currently preparing to compete against a selection of Europe’s hottest prospects for the Vagliano Trophy at Chantilly Golf Club in France alongside five of the best young golfers from across Great Britain and Ireland.
The two day tournament versus Continental Europe U16s, which gets underway tomorrow, will begin with three sets of foursomes which will be followed by six singles matches.
And next month Sophie will represent England in the European U18s Championships in Sweden. In the chase for the coveted title, the teams will compete in strokeplay before the top eight countries contest a knockout until the championship is decided.
Sophie’s dad, Phil, said: “I am thrilled that Sophie is progressing so nicely with her golf. We felt that England would go with some more experienced players this time, so to find out last week she was selected was brilliant news.”
