International Sophie Lamb reached the quarter-finals of the English women’s open match play championship at Holme Hall.
The 18-year-old shot six-under par on the opening day to lead the qualifiers in Lincolnshire, playing 27 holes before dropping a shot.
The Clitheroe golfer scored a four-under 69 on her first lap of the course and added 71 to finish qualifying one stroke ahead of India Clyburn (Woodhall Spa).
The teenager moved on to beat 2015 runner-up Emily Coleman (Trentham) in the first round match play but lost 5&3 to Chelmsford Golf Club’s Georgina Blackman in the last eight of the competition.
Scot Gemma Batty eventually secured the trophy, beating Kent’s Cloe Frankish 4&3 in the final.
