READ-BASED sidecar racers Russ and Rod Pearce widened the gap at the top of the British F2 Sidecar Championship with a solid set of results at Cadwell Park last weekend.
With a qualifying lap which set the duo up with a 13th place grid position, third in their respective class, things were looking bright from the offset. This great run of form carried on into the Saturday afternoon race, where the Pearce brothers held their nerve and battle through to fourth place in their class.
The second race, this time on the Sunday, was postponed until the late afternoon due to inclement weather at the Lincolnshire circuit. Despite this minor setback the Pearce’s powered through and fought their way into the class lead, ninth overall in the race, giving them 25 more points to their ever-growing total.
This set of results means the Pearce brothers extend their lead in the championship to 48 points, ahead of the second placed outfit of Dean Lindley and Leon Fitzpatrick.
