Samantha Murray has been nominated for Sky Sports’ Sportswoman of the Month award for February after her win at the modern pentathlon World Cup 1 in Florida.

Samantha joins Simona Halep, Charlotte Edwards, Katerina Johnson-Thompson, Lydia Ko and Lizzy Yarnold on the shortlist.

Golfer Halep clinched her 10th career title - the Dubai Championships.

Cricketer Edwards made history as the first England captain, male or female, to skipper a side in 200 internationals.

Johnson-Thompson showed why she is ranked the best heptathlete in the world, smashing two British indoor records in the high jump and long jump.

Ko cemented her rise to the top of the women’s golf earlier this month by becoming the youngest ever world No 1 in the sport.

And skeleton racer Yarnold was crowned European champion in Austria.
