Ribble Valley tennis coach Elizabeth Thomas is set for the experience of a lifetime this weekend.
The 28-year-old former professional is the youngest of four female coaches selected to travel with Judy Murray and the Great Britain FED Cup team for their group two promotional play-off at the Mery Teran De Weiss Stadium in Buenos Aires at the weekend.
Elizabeth will assist the team, consisting of British number one Laura Robson, Johanna Konta, Anne Keothavong and Elena Baltacha, alongside Murray, mother of world number two Andy.
The purpose of the trip is to give the coaches a great experience and educational opportunity, kick-start a more focussed approach to supporting female coaches and provide the team with more presence and support.
Elizabeth fits the bill in terms of the level that she is working at and the players she is working with at Bolton Arena - one of the country’s few LTA International High Performance Centres, where she works with the under 9 age group. She also works at Ribble Valley Tennis Centre, which focuses on tennis development of all ages.
