Mytton Fold Golf Club’s new state of the art buggies have proved so popular, they are to increase their fleet!

The buggies enhance the playing experience of the challenging 72-par 18-hole golf course, with a tag and text facility, which enables the club shop to keep in touch with the buggies, to advise if they are straying out of bounds, and keep play flowing smoothly.

The on-board digital screen has a built-in course GPS which shows the distances to the front, middle and back of the greens.

The E-Z-GO RXVs have recently been supplied to Valderrama, the Championship course in Spain, and the iconic Pebble Beach Resort in California.

Nigel Alcock, manager of Mytton Fold Golf, said “The buggies are proving very popular. Demand is so strong we will be increasing our fleet later in the year.”

Meanwhile, Dave Clegg won the club’s two-day Pharman Cup at the weekend with 85-13-72, on the card from Chris Hughes (91-19-72). Nigel Fairhurst was two shots behind the leading duo.

On Sunday, Lee Salter led the competitors home in round two, carding an excellent 97-25-72. Club captain Phil Hammond had the lowest gross, but was two shots behind the leader - taking second overall. Clegg’s 89-13-76 was good enough for third – and the overall cup win.

Hughes carded a nett 83 on Sunday to finish third overall.

The ladies’ one-day Pharman Cup competition on Sunday was won by Allison Nuttall (98-22-76).
