Kirk Cattermole was racing at Darley Moor in Derbyshire last weekend at rounds one and two of the 125 open class English Championship.
Unfortunately the grid was only a small one, but had some serious competion to race against.
The meeting consisted of timed practice and two championship races.
The weather was dry with no wind, so conditions were excellent.
In timed qualifying he managed to put his kart on pole position for the first race with a time of 59.78, the only 125 driver to ever put in a time of under a minute.
His time was 01.77 seconds faster than the second place competitor.
In both races he took a lights to chequered flag victory also setting the new lap record at 100.03 in race one, although the time in qualifying does not count as a lap record, as it has to recorded in a race.
Kirk is now leading the English Championship, with the last two races being held at Oulton Park in October.
Kirk would like to thank his sponsors Magnum motorsport, PFP Services, Cat Racing Services, Ultraframe and Millers Oils.
