Clitheroe karter Kirk Cattermole has retained his 125 Open Kart English Championship title!
The second round of the prestigious championship was held at Cadwell Park in Lincolnshire on Saturday.
From a full grid of 40 karts, Kirk managed to qualify in pole position.
In race one, the lead changes several times, but Kirk took the chequered flag, despite struggling with the kart’s handling due to a puncture.
The English championship is held over four races, with the best three to count, so that meant Kirk had secured the title with maximum points having already won two races at Darley Moor.
In the second race, the pressure was off and he secured second spot.
Kirk is over the moon to be able to run the prestigious E plate for another year.
He thanks his sponsors PFP Services, Magnum Motor, Cat Racing Services and Joe Worsfold.
