Clitheroe karter Kirk Cattermole (26) finished his season in style, taking the Stars of Darley title and winning the driver of the year award.
The production operative at Ultraframe has also started the new season well, storming to victory in the first two race meetings at Darley Moor in Derbyshire.
Kirk races a 125cc open Gearbox kart with six gears which can reach speeds of up to 120 mph.
In both the March and April race meetings, he took the win in all four races held over the two weekends.
His next outing will be at Snetterton in Norfolk for the British Superkart race meeting, where there should be a grid in excess of 30 driver,s and the competition is going to be extremely challenging as there are lots of excellent drivers in the class.
Kirk’s talent has helped him gain sponorship in the form of a Raider Chassis provided by Phil Featherstone of PFP Services and an SGM engine provided by Derek Price of Magnum Motorsport, Millers Oils in the form of race oil, and Cat Racing Services based in Clitheroe.
