Craig takes top spot at Mytton Fold by a hair’s breadth!

Clean-shaven Craig Hall took top spot by a hairsbreadth when Mytton Fold Golf Club held their September Stableford competition on Saturday.

Craig’s 41 points and a strong back nine pushed Ray Standring into second following a card playoff.

Angus Barr came home in third position with 38 points ahead of fourth placed, and Division Two winner Eddie Scott, Division One winner Garry Davies and sixth placed Gordon Lucas all with 37 points.

Four players shared out the Twos Pot with Gordon Lucas, John Whittaker and Martin Holden all birdying the first while Wayne Ivinson joind the party at the ninth.

As the season approaches its close Matt Oakley still holds a strong top spot in the Order of Merit with 86 points, some 14 ahead of Brad Hodgeson. This week’s winner Craig Hall is close behind in third with 68 points Dave Pennington, with 59 points, is hanging on in fourth.

The ladies held their September 9-hole Stableford this week and it was another win for Brenda Griffith, with Lady Captain Elect Tarja Wilson second, Gillian Pinder third and Lady Captain Ann Almond fourth.

In the Ladies’ 9-hole Order of Merit, Gillian heads the table ahead of Brenda, with Tarja lying in third.
