Clitheroe boxer Luke Blackledge collected a second-successive victory against Darren McKenna at Villa Park on Saturday.
As the 23-year-old rebuilds his reputation following November’s loss to Rocky Fielding for the Commonwealth Super Middleweight title on the undercard of Froch v Groves I at Manchester’s Phones 4u Arena, Blackledge added to April’s win over Jody Meikle at Colne Muni in the Holte Suite in Birmingham.
He won by TKO, with referee Gareth Morris stopping the fight after one minute 29 seconds in the third of four scheduled three-minute rounds.
Blackledge put McKenna down late in the first round, and again in the third before the stoppage, as he moved his record to 16-2-2.
He said: “I’m really happy with that, I trained my socks off - drill after drill on my technique, footwork. Complete boxing training.”
