Clitheroe-based physiotherapist Denise Park is celebrating after two clients were crowned English Fell Running champions.
The summer-long season sees the Nations best fell runners go head to head, with their four best races from six counting.
The race distances vary from four to 20 miles over fells, moorland, mud, uphill and downhill.
Over the years, Denise, at her Physiotherapy Practice in Clitheroe, has looked after numerous fell runners. But this year saw her hard work pay off as Sam Tosh of Rossendale, and
Victoria Wilkinson of Bingley Harriers – who works as a sports masseur at Denise’s practice – clinched the titles.
It was Sam’s first win, after finishing runner-up last year, winning a nail-biting final race to win him the series.
Victoria had four wins out of four, giving her a convincing win.
Both athletes were able to keep injury-free with Denise’s regular treatment throughout their build up and the season, and will now take a short break before their 2018 campaign.
