CLITHEROE lads Jarvis Stanton, a Year 9 pupil at CRGS, and Ethan Wringe, a pupil at Ribblesdale High, celebrated success as Preston Grasshoppers Under-14 rugby team became the Blacksticks Blue Lancashire Cup champions.

In a hard-fought final against the season’s dominant team Manchester RFC, Hoppers emerged champions after an 18-15 success.

Jarvis and Ethan joined Preston Grasshoppers at the start of this season.

The soon established themselves as regulars in the first team, despite fierce competition, maintaining their places through dedication and hard work.

Jarvis had previously played for Clitheroe Buccaneers RFC since the age of eight, progressing from tag to contact rugby, and ultimately establishing himself as an accomplished forward.

Ethan’s natural speed and tackling ability was also honed by a season at Clitheroe Buccaneers, where he was used to best advantage as a back.
