CLITHEROE RUFC have elected a new club captain for the forthcoming season.
Nathan Peel was the man unanimously elected by the players to take the captain’s armband.
He takes over from Oliver McEntyre who has served the club with distinction for the past three seasons and now steps aside for a slightly younger man.
In the club’s 35th year Nathan becomes only the 19th captain and aged just 31 still has plenty to give on and off the pitch.
An adaptable player, he can fill just about any position in the three-quarter line, but is probably most effective at outside centre.
Nathan commented that he was honoured at being chosen to lead the club into the fresh season, and although aware he is following in some large footsteps, is keen to make his own mark on Clitheroe Rugby.
It is certainly going to be a busy year for Nathan; with just 18 months of marriage to Jenny under his belt and his new house in Waddington with renovations still ongoing, and now the big responsibility of Clitheroe RUFC
