Clitheroe Rugby Club was the venue for the first of a series of sessions held by the Lancashire RFU Development Centre Project.
A total of 35 players attended the session, hosted by Chris Briers, who has played at representative level for Lancashire and for England Counties.
He was assisted by the Fylde first team head coach Mark Nelson, who also heads the Lancashire Development Centres.
Focussing on reorganising the defence, and on counter-attacking, the Clitheroe head coach Andy Clifford said afterwards: “It was great to have expert input from Lancashire to help us improve the performance of our players in key areas of the game.
“The scheme underpins the work we are doing internally at the club.”
Lancashire Development Centre Manager Nelson commented: “We are offering a bespoke service to clubs to assist them in specific areas of the game.
“We have further sessions at Trafford MV, Bury, Crosby St Marys, Pendle, Hutton, Bolton and Waterloo.
“The players at Clitheroe responded very well to Chris who has experience at Championship level, as well as being a long-serving Lancashire player.”
