Perpetual challenger Michael Bisping has finally landed his shot at the Middleweight title that has eluded him throughout his time with the UFC.

The 37-year-old, who hails from Clitheroe, will face champion Luke Rockhold at UFC 199 in California after Chris Weidman was forced to withdraw with a recurring back problem.

The pair have history as the American southpaw came out on top in Sydney, Australia, in November 2014 as “The Count” submitted to a guillotine choke after less than a minute of the second round had elapsed.

Bisping, who had failed to make the cut previously with defeats to Dan Henderson and Chael Sonnen, beat former champion Anderson “The Spider” Silva in his last outing at the O2 Arena in London earlier in the year.
