Warburtons charity football match helps Pendleside Hospice

STAFF from Warburton’s bakery celebrated the memory of a friend and colleague with a charity football match.

The match was organised by Ian Crossley to remember popular worker Phil Carver and raised £277 for Pendleside Hospice.

More than 30 fellow employees were on the touchline at Bank Hall to support team “Phil” as they battled valiantly agains their “Carver” oppontents. The final score was 5-4 to “Carver”

After the match everyone was invited back to Koko’s In Burnley to celebrate the team’s victory. Player Mr Crossley said: “Thank you to everyone that came along and supported us on the day. We raised a wonderful amount.”
