Skipper George Young scored four goals as Hurst Green Youth eased through to the 2nd round of the Lancashire Syndicate Youth Trophy.
The Green started brightly and took the lead after two minutes as Ollie Shipston ran on to a superb pass from Ben Aspery before calmly slotting the ball beyond the advancing keeper.
Leyland equalised after 10 minutes but Green retook the lead agaiin through Tyler Baron. Harri Yerkess then added a third before Leyland missed a penalty on the stroke of half-time.
Leyland did pull one back at the start of the second half but Young restored his side’s two-goal lead from the panalty spot.
Young scored Green’s fifth and sixth goals of the game to secure his hat-trick.
Manager Alex Young then made wholesale changes with 25 minutes left on the clock, the jet-heeled Tom Reede adding to the scoreline before Young with his fourth, an own goal and debutant right back, Matt Farnsworth finished off the impressive rout.
