Reigning East Lancashire League champions Rimington turned this game on it’s head to take all three points against previously unbeaten Rock, having been 3-0 down.
Rock took the lead on 25 minutes, as a corner was only partially cleared and a shot from the edge of the area sneaked in off the post.
Five minutes later the visitors extended their lead, the centre forward getting in behind Martin Aspinall to dink the ball over the keeper.
Worse was to come when the winger was played in, in behind Robert Lloyd, and he fired through the legs of Kershaw on 36 minutes.
In the dying seconds of the half Rimington pulled one back as Gary Hickling’s cross was headed into the corner by the diving Thomas Eglin.
In the second half, Hickling headed into the path of Micky Walsh and he fired in a beauty. It was no surprise when Glen Dinsdale grabbed two goals to put his side in front, and with 12 minutes remaining, Eglin scored his second with a powerful header into the top corner from Hutchinson’s cross.
Rimington are at Rock on Saturday.
